ABOUT US
Our Story
Phi Rho Sigma Medical Society is an international coeducational fraternity for medical students. Founded in 1890 at Northwestern University, the Society opened a chapter at the University of Iowa soon thereafter and built a house in the Manville Heights neighborhood of Iowa City in 1929.
At Phi Rho Sigma, we put our values into action. We are a community committed to academic excellence, community service, and strong social bonds.
Phi Rho Sigma alumni have been responsible for numerous significant advances of modern medicine, and many alumni currently hold positions of influence and prominence in academic and clinical medicine.
Membership is open to all medical students of good academic standing. We hope you consider joining! Find photos, details, and housing information in the Amenities page.
